I was getting income support from the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP),and have been given a "medical review" date. What does this mean?

I was getting support income for quite a while and there is a slight improvement but I still cannot work in my career field due to my disability.

A medical review of your disability allows government to make sure that you continue to meet the Ontario Disability Support Program's definition of disability.

A medical review date is set in order to analyze if person's condition might improve over time. In this way, government makes sure that the program continues to support the people it was designed to help.

Recipients will receive Income Support and other benefits while medical review is in process as long as they continue to meet all other eligibility requirements.

How the medical review process works
When it is time for your medical review, you will be sent a Disability Determination Package. It contains:

instructions on who has to fill out the forms
a Health Status Report and Activities of Daily Living Index form
a Consent to Release Medical Information form
a Self-Report form.
